Upper Teton River

fishing can be slow during the heat. avoid being on the water any later than 11am or early than 6pm. unless its the only time you have, than bring sunscreen, water, and change your fly a few times if you find risers but they wont eat

on days with a slight rain or overcast sky there can be large hatches of pale morning duns. but the morning temp has to start out low other wise its slow going most mornings.

The large fish in the valley around driggs and victor are educated so a good cripple or parachute pmd can be a good choice in the morning and a solid presentation is needed. the fish will follow your fly and roll on it before they take usually.. so dont get hasty when you see risers.

the evening time is a better bet for good fishing. there is generally a large caddis hatch and size 14 elk hair caddis can be very productive. even in black.  a drift boat will get ya to the best spots with dozens of risers slamming the surface

large cutthroat and rainbows are common if not abundant in the upper teton but they know a phony when they see one so be patient and bring lots of dry immitations. it could be a size 16 PMD or a size 12 black flying ant. Ive had 18inch fish on both in the last two weeks

hoppers are still rare takes but it happens. a hopper dropper is sure to land ya a white fish if not something more desirable
